SPECIFICATION
1.
MAJOR DIFFERENCES BETWEEN UNET AND STANDARDS
- Standards
provide performance requirements for the components and the link
without specifying or identifying a matched system. UNET tests
components and channels and can explain how the components will
work together as a system.
- Standards
allow for impedance smoothing; UNET does not.
- UNET's
patch cord specs include both return loss and NEXT.
- UNET
won't accept splices or non-virgin materials.
- UNET
requires power sum testing for connecting hardware (as well as
for cable and channel), while the standards do not.
